Role Overview

We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team in Patras.

The role involves assisting in the design, modeling, and detailing of steel structures, supporting production, and contributing to the planning and execution of industrial projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers and project managers, gaining hands-on experience in the full lifecycle of design and fabrication.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the design and detailing of steel structures using Tekla Structures, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
• Support project planning, production coordination, and on-site engineering activities.
• Contribute to documentation, technical reports, and quality control processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and safety in all stages of production.
• Learn and apply company standards and European codes in mechanical and structural design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field (required).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Tekla Structures or SolidWorks is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Organized, reliable, and motivated to develop within an industrial environment.
• Good command of English.

About the Job

Olympic Mechanical S.A., an industrial company with extensive experience in the design, fabrication, and installation of steel structures, is looking for a Structural Steel Design Engineer with experience in TEKLA Structures to join and strengthen its technical department.

The position is aimed at an Engineer with substantial experience in the design, modelling, and detailing of steel structures, who is interested in participating in demanding industrial and technical projects within a well-organized manufacturing environment.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will be involved in the design of steel structures, the preparation of fabrication and erection drawings, and close cooperation with the production department and construction sites to ensure the correct and efficient execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities

• 3D modelling of steel structures using TEKLA Structures
• Preparation of fabrication and erection drawings
• Preparation of material lists, BOMs, and production files
• Reviewing drawings for constructability and practical implementation
• Collaboration with the production, procurement, and site teams during the erection process
• Participation in the optimization of technical and fabrication solutions

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline
• Proven experience with TEKLA Structures
• Experience in steel structures or steel detailing
• Ability to read and produce technical and fabrication drawings
• Strong technical understanding and knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Attention to detail, responsibility, and consistency
• Very good command of the English language

Additional Qualifications

The following will be considered an advantage:

• Knowledge of SOLIDWORKS
• Experience in industrial projects or structural steel buildings
• Experience with fabrication drawings, erection drawings, BOMs, and NC files
• Understanding of steel fabrication processes, including cutting, drilling, welding, and assembly
